I’m Harry Zheng, the Selective Schools Subject Lead for EdAtlas
I have a personal story regarding Selective Schools. In 2019, I undertook the Selective Schools Exam and received a first-round offer to join Melbourne High School as a part of the Year 9 cohort for 2020. To my mother’s chagrin, I rejected this offer, being happy with where I was at the time…
Nowadays, I am studying a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne, where I am surrounded by the same cohort that I declined to join all those years ago. And I regret it. Despite my satisfactory performance in high school, I can’t help but think about the connections, opportunities, and stories I missed by not taking the initiative to transform the course of my own educational life.
And that’s why I’m here – to pass on my passion to you, and help you not only comprehensively understand how to gain admission to these prestigious institutions, but also why you should care. Because opportunity only knocks once, and with our support, it’s up to you to open the door.
